Yala National Park- The Leopard Kingdom

Yala is considered to be the best wild animal reserve in Sri Lanka, with picturesque beautiful scenery and highest concentration of leopards worldwide.

Kumana National Park- Paradise of the Birds

The wetland is a peaceful refuge of the birds and is one of the main breeding areas of the birds in Asia.

  • Specialty: This is home to more than 250 species of birds which have been recorded and also has large nesting colonies.
  • Interesting Facts: Kumana Villu during seasons, it becomes an extensive breeding area of birds.
  • Best Times to Visit: If you are a bird enthusiast, April to July is the ideal time to visit when the breeding and nesting season is at its top.

Gal Oya National Park-The Swimming Elephants

Gal Oya is a remarkable lake-safari place where all the animals strive in the beautiful environment without pollution.

  • Especial sight: Swimming elephants, deer, langurs, macaques, and different species of birds.
  • Specialty: This is the only one place in Sri Lanka where the guests can see wild elephants swimming in between islands.
  • How ever It is one of the least visited parks in the country, which offers a serene and clean safari experience.
  • Best Times to Visit: It offers an amazing experience all through the year but bird-watching is best experienced in the month of November and April and best time to see the elephants is between June and October.
